Officers Tazer Man while holding newborn child.
http://video.ap.org/v/default.aspx?g...labat&fg=email
I'm not sure what to make of this. In the video you can obviously see the "father" is agitated and hostile so a tazing was in order, however on the other hand, why would you taze him while he's holding an infant? At that point wouldn't it be appropriate to negotiate and try to have him relinquish the baby to the mother or to a nurse then take him down?

He was hostile because they were hassling him instead of using common sense and checking the wrist bands. I'd've been pretty pissed too.
At no point was it appropriate to use a taser on him with him holding a baby.

He is lucky the infant wasn't killed or crushed under his falling father. I think its ludicrous and the police officer should have thought alot harder about the situation. Turning to his tazer was just laziness and foolish.

Funny to hear that from you after the last police incident that caused the knife wielding woman to stab herself.

He was holding the baby in a threatening manner. The officer was in fear of his life.

Crazy lady is not the same as a father holding a child, nomatter how wild the father is. Same reason snipers don't blow people's heads off in hostage situations if they are holding a child. To compare the two is pointless.
EDIT: LIFE IMPORTANCE = CHILD>INNOCENT>YOU>CRIMINAL

That gives me goose bumps.
That motherfucker would've been thanking god the cops were there when I came out of handcuffs. He should be shot.

This happened in Houston back in May. The cop was working detail. The man was using his right to refuse medical care and the nurse told the cop to stop the man. The rest is on video.
I remember when walton and johnson were talking about this. Seems that for a while Houston cops felt the need to taze everyone they could, including people with newborns in their hands.

I love how they dressed him in a Polo and showed him how to walk straight for the videos so he doesn't look like a metalhead.
It's still stupid, though. If I was him my grandchildren wouldn't have to work.

I did notice that they kinda mumbled that out at the end of the video.
...and for the record, folks.
It's TAZED. The guy was TAZED by the cop. A tazER is a device that tazES. TazERED is not a word. Just for the record.

No one's arguing the integrity of the guy. He looks like a rough houser anyway. The point is that the cop shouldn't have tazerered someone holding a baby.
